Land work in Williamston, done the way we'd do our own

Williamston grew up around the Mineral Spring, and the town is growing again — a new 63-home subdivision near downtown, revitalization along Main Street, and building pressure on the Pelzer Highway corridor. Older streets keep their compact lots around Mineral Spring Park, and rural pasture runs toward Pelzer. We clear lots, grade pads, cut driveways, and reclaim overgrown acreage on both sides. Cecil red clay here drains slowly and compacts hard, so water has to be planned for. The owner walks your land, prices it in writing, and treats it like his own.

Frequently asked questions

Why won't you grade red clay when it's wet?

Because wet Cecil clay seals when it's overworked, and a sealed clay surface is what causes chronic standing water. Compacted clay here can infiltrate as little as five-hundredths of an inch of water per hour, so a lot graded wet can hold puddles for years afterward. We work the ground when conditions are right so the finished grade drains the way it's supposed to.

Do Anderson County's new development rules apply to my lot in Williamston?

Homeowner-scale work runs on a simpler track. The county's mass-grading limits and its 2025 pause on new unincorporated housing were aimed at subdivision development, not a resident clearing a lot or cutting a driveway. Land-disturbance and stormwater review still apply, with state permit coverage starting at one acre disturbed — and infill lots near downtown get the same careful treatment as acreage toward Pelzer.

Do you take on small residential jobs in Williamston?

Yes. From a single overgrown backyard lot to full acreage, if it’s a fit for our equipment we’ll take it — and if it isn’t, we’ll tell you on the walk and point you the right direction.
